If the film is doing well, they delay the digital release to earn more from cinemas.

In many cases, OTT rights are sold even before the theatrical release to platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Disney+ Hotstar. These deals include a fixed "theatrical window," after which the movie automatically lands on OTT.

Industry insiders track box-office trends, distributor reports, and deal rumors, so they can predict an OTT release weeks in advance. The general audience, however, usually learns about it only when the streaming platform releases a poster or date.
